The saying “If it aint broke, don’t fix it”, means nothing to the creators at High Bank Distillery. Mixing it up is the name of the game behind the bar of High Bank and there are no plans to stop. Today we bring to you another classic creation. By now you should know that we never leave well enough alone, and in true High Bank fashion we have changed just a few things. A classic Boulevardier is a cocktail that combines whiskey, campari, and sweet vermouth to crate a spirit forward cocktail that is best served over ice. While this classic recipe is pleasing, it is also expected and a bit tired. Now welcome to the stage the Boulevardier 2.0. To start off this cocktail we need the star of the show Whiskey War, this blended whiskey is combined with a bar spoonful of sweet vermouth and Cynar. Cynar being a bitter liqueur made from artichoke compliments the Whiskey War in ways your taste buds have never experienced. This mixture is then poured over a fresh ice block and topped with an orange peel to create a stunning dark visual. This simple ingredient swap out gives the boulevardier a complete edit and an entire change in its flavor profile. This drink deserves a transformation Tuesday hashtag, try it for yourself we know you will agree.

BOULEVARDIER HOW TO:

1.5oz WHISKEY WAR

3/4oz CYNAR

3/4oz SWEET VERMOUTH

COMBINE INGREDIENTS WITH ICE, STIR, STRAIN OVER LARGE ICE CUBE. GARNISH WITH ORANGE PEEL & ENJOY.

High Bank is growing, and fast. Most days we find ourselves looking for what is next, the next project or the next creation. However we feel that sometimes it is good to step back and look to the past. Today we bring you the mixed berry lemonade. A drink created out of nostalgia and infused with memories of youth. This simple recipe combines fresh organic berries with old school lemonade, and of course our High Bank Vodka. If you have not yet had the chance to try it , High Bank Vodka is the perfect spirit to pair with this style of drink. Its crisp clean wheat base is enhanced by the addition of Ohio apples. The combination of the muddled berries and the fresh lemon juice give this drink a deep violet color and a fresh citrus taste. On the pallet this drink is bright and fresh without being overly sweet. Our memories are instantly triggered by this drink with visions of hot summers and backyard swings. It's “THE BEE’S KNEES”

Here at high bank we love History. And because we love history we love all things classic, well almost all. Classic cocktails for example are something most people can get behind. They are tried and true recipes and flavor profiles that just work. However, an age of auto tune and apps that make your eyes look bigger for an instagram photo we recognize that everything could use a tweak now and then. Keeping that in mind this month we bring you The Bee’s Knees, a spin on the classic cocktail the French 75. This gin cocktail features our citrus forward Statehouse Gin and our secret recipe hot honey syrup (also featured on our crowd favorite Hot Honey Chicken entree), along with fresh lemon juice and some chilled bubbly this is a simple drink that is worth all of the buzz. The creation was a collaboration between a few of the bartenders on staff at High Bank Distillery, and while no one will directly take credit for its creation we have heard rumors that the employees know the true queen bee creator of  this drink. One needs only to ask in person to be sent on their way to this masked mastermind. This drink is great for transition from summer to fall as it ties in the bright citrus we all covet on our summer pallets, while also high lighting the warm smooth flavors from fall we all look forward to each year.

 Now lets get back to that chicken shall we? The Bees Knees is a great pairing option for the Hot Honey Chicken. Created by our Chef Todd out of the same want to make a classic into a creation. Our chicken is locally sourced and lightly battered, afterwards it is glazed in  our delicious melt in your mouth hot honey. The dish is also served up with some seriously creamy pimento Mac and cheese. This stuff will put you grannys Mac and cheese recipe to shame. How do we know about your granny you ask? We have our ways. Getting back on topic this dish is a great way to indulge your taste buds and experience some truly unique flavors come together in a not so classic way.
